The Manorhouse Stone ‘Original’ range of fireplaces has been in production for over 15 years. Its essential design elements originated in the Great English houses of the 1300’s and 1400’s and the basic form has been used through all periods since, most notably through Tudor, Elizabethan and Jacobean times. This design has been used in all types of important building and has been made in almost any size imaginable. It is a traditional large-opening fireplace from the days when this was the only source of heat in the vast stone homes of early England. Although we now have the benefit of more convenient and efficient heating systems, there is still no substitute for the look and feel of a real open fire roaring away in a beautiful fireplace. Our four standard sizes are all close to the sizes of original examples, and normally one of these standard sizes will fulfil your requirements. This is such a simple timeless design, that it looks stunning in any home of any age. With your favourite antiques in your listed building, it will look like it has always been there. It will look equally outstanding in a contemporary environment; such is the versatility of natural stone. All our fireplaces are carved from solid natural French Limestone or Sandstone. |
