Whether building your fireplace in a new house, or replacing one in an old building, materials for the fireplace recess have to be decided. We favour the use of reclaimed bricks: They are the most traditional material used for this purpose, and they also make an attractive contrast to the stone surround. They are of course, very hard wearing also. We can supply these if you cannot obtain them locally.
